Sinfonia Varsovia Concert Hall, Auditorium Complex

Grain of Sound
Concept Design

Client: Sinfonia Varsovia
Size: 15,200 sqm
Location: Warsaw, Poland

The design of this concert hall restored historical settings by respecting the contextual proportion of the entire plot. The concept of the design is to have a wood cladded auditorium centered in the middle of the design, like a national treasure, surround by a transparent skin where affiliated support services are located in between. The ribbon patterned undulating visual glass facade enables the visitors at the upper foyers to interact with the surrounding buildings.

On the exterior, the opaque ribbon pattern on the facade is mirrors which reflect the surrounding context, existing buildings, trees and sky. This dramatically reduces the building mass visually and helps to blend the building into its surroundings.
